OneSteel Metalcentre & Nissan Motorsport celebrate 2015 sponsorship with a snag
To celebrate the continuation of the relationship between OneSteel Metalcentre and Nissan Motorsport for 2015 Rick and Todd Kelly visited the Port Adelaide site for a BBQ with staff and customers.
Nissan Motorsport driver and team owner Rick Kelly said: “The event at Port Adelaide is becoming our traditional launch to the season with the OneSteel Metalcentre team. It’s a great opportunity to visit the OneSteel team and their customers away from the track in a relaxed environment. It was thoroughly enjoyable and I look forward to next year.”
Later that week, Rick and Todd Kelly finished seventh and 10th in final race of the Clipsal 500 Adelaide. The Mildura-born brothers avoided a last lap incident between Jamie Whincup and Chaz Mostert to take the top 10 results. The weekend results has Rick Kelly in eighth in the championship battle, while Todd Kelly sits 10th.
In 2015, OneSteel branding will again adorn both Rick and Todd’s cars. The relationship with the V8Supercar team extends back to 2010 with OneSteel Metalcentre suppling steel in the extension of the team’s racing headquarters and factory. However the relationship with the Kelly family goes back many years, as the racing brothers’ father John Kelly’s business Malidot is a long term OneSteel customer in Mildura
On the continuation of the relationship, OneSteel Metalcentre General Manager Mark Lewin said: “I think we are really hitting our straps with the way we are activating the sponsorship with customers. The ENDURA500 promotion and the recent Port Adelaide function are positive examples of how we use our partnership with Nissan Motorsport to enhance our customer connectivity.”
